Debate

The Bard Network Debate Workshop aims to bring together students, faculty, and staff from Bard network institutions for four days of discussion, collaboration, and debate. Student debate team leaders and faculty/staff debate team sponsors will engage one another in conversation on how to prepare for, stage, and execute in-class debates, public debates, competitive debates, and debate outreach projects. Participants will attend lectures and workshops and hold practice debates and students will participate in a final public debate. Student applicants should be sophomores or juniors who are currently members of their university debate teams and who intend to serve as debate team leaders in coming years. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership in promoting debate on their campuses and a commitment to debate outreach, including public debates and work with schools.

The Bard Network and affiliated institutions will gather student leaders for a four-day debate workshop in Budapest, Hungary from March 16th to 19th (participants will arrive on March 15th and depart March 20th), 2017 with up to two student participants from each campus.

Please submit materials by January 10th.
